I have nothing but praise and admiration for the reactions of everyone connected to Abbeyfield, from the medical team at Pinford Gate, but mainly to all people employed in various positions within the Abbeyfield Home (Westfield Drive) including the volunteers, who do a fantastic job for the love of it, the catering staff and the carers at all levels. Also the seniors who are responsible for the ground troops in the home and maintaining the high standard of care that my wife enjoyed, but by no means least, the residents of Abbeyfield who must have made a positive contribution.For the family and myself I just wish to offer my sincere thanks to all the friends at Abbeyfield who, in their own particular way, have helped my wife though her latter days of her illness. Dust off your Elf hat and make a difference to older peopleThroughout the festive period, our Abbeyfield Loughborough houses will host events for our residents. Picture sing-a-longs, delicious home-cooked meals and best of all, great company.To help us make this Christmas the best Christmas ever, we’re looking for a whole range of Santa’s little helpers (otherwise known as volunteers!) to support our events and, of course, join in the celebrations.Our doors are open to individuals and groups; either families and friends. Abbeyfield Loughborough Society have been awarded a Level 4 achievement for our Thriving Gardens. The Certificate was presented in a Awards Gala Dinner at Burleigh Court Hotel from representatives from The Royal Horticultural Society, Loughborough in Bloom on Tuesday 7th November. Well Done to Terry and the maintenance team for your out-standing achievement!The Don’t Make Around awards recognise some fantastic environmental efforts while the Loughborough in Bloom Neighbourhood awards the great work being carried out to support the bloom bid. We’re taking the residents at Westfield Drive to the Abbeyfield beach this week! Everyone’s looking forward to making sand castles and floating our beach ball around our outside beach garden. After all the activities we’re having a seaside favourite of Fish & Chip’s. We love our fun day’s at Abbeyfield Loughborough.
