My name is Julie King and I have been working for the Abbeyfield Loughborough Society since February 2000, firstly in the role of Care Co-ordinator and then as General Manager. Previously I trained and worked within the NHS as a Registered General Nurse at QMC in Nottingham and have also had experience working within the private care sector.
I am married with two sons and a grandson, Arthur, who is 4 years old and makes me smile every day. I also have 2 Golden Retrievers, Seth & Buddy, who keep me fit, even though I always seem to end each walk giving them a bath after they have been in every dirty ditch they can find!!!
I have seen a number of changes within the Care sector and here at Abbeyfield over the last 20 years, and we are currently dealing with a number of challenges that are testing us all. However, we have a strong and dedicated team who are all demonstrating their commitment to our Residents and I am proud to be part of that team.
We are also at the start of a new development to provide a further 33 bedded dementia unit, which is both exciting and challenging. Keep viewing our Facebook page for news on how things are moving forward!!
