My name is Alison I have worked in residential care for over 30 years, my career started as a care assistant with the Leicestershire County Council back in April 1988. I became the registered manager for Abbeyfield in June 2013. I am passionate about providing quality care for all our residents here at Westfield House, as part of my role I am the trainer for dignity and moving and handling.
I have been married to Keith since 1985 who I met in the Lake District where I worked as a Hotel Receptionist in 1983 and have two children Daniel and Kerri who now both have children of their own, Ava-Lily, Ella and Jackson.
Those who know me well, know that my holidays from the past and future ones are very important to me, I have fond memories of holidays spent with my parents Alan and Pat and fun times spent with my children as they grew. My husband and I now look forward to holidays just the two of us, they are very different to those with the children but still as enjoyable. I love to read a good murder while sitting by a pool with a cool drink in my hand and soaking up the sun.
In my spare time I enjoy watching sports of all kinds however my passion is ice hockey, I have been a Nottingham Panthers season ticket holder since September 2000.
I love going out for dinner especially Italian, when I’m home in the evenings I enjoy relaxing while watching programmes where there’s a problem to solve, like a detective story or a murder mystery.
Finally I have a Miniature Schnauzer, called Sidney he is 10 years old, he is a big part of my life although he is not so miniature he is lovely none the less. Sidney has a very gentle temperament and he loves his food and his walks.
